Bhusawal Division Reports 722 Alarm Chain-Pulling Incidents, 674 Penalised

Trains have a special emergency cord called the alarm chain.

It is meant to be used only when there is a real emergency.

Some passengers pull the chain for small reasons, like missing the train or dropping their phone.

When the chain is pulled, the train has to stop.

This makes the train late and also delays other trains behind it.

In one area called the Bhusawal Division, the alarm chain was pulled 722 times in four months.

Many of those pulls were not for real emergencies.

Railway officials found 674 people guilty and made them pay fines.

They are asking passengers to use the alarm chain only when there is a true emergency.
