Railways Approves Rs 133-Crore Four-Lane Bridge in Gujarat

Railways has approved a new four-lane road bridge in Gujarat.

It will replace Level Crossing No.

53 on the Udhna-Ukai Songadh railway section.

A level crossing is a place where roads and train tracks meet.

The bridge will let road vehicles pass above the railway instead.

This should reduce interruptions between road traffic and trains.

The project is budgeted at Rs 133.2295 crore and will be paid for equally by Indian Railways and the state government.

The railway bridge will use an Open Web Girder and has a difficult 62% skew.

Officials say the project should make road and train movement smoother, safer, and more reliable.
