Opposition Protests Force Lok Sabha Adjournment Till 2 PM
On Thursday, the Lok Sabha, which is part of India's parliament, had a very noisy morning.
Some politicians called Opposition MPs were upset about how the police had treated student protesters on July 20.
They shouted slogans and held up signs to show their anger.
They also asked for Home Minister Amit Shah to come and answer questions about it.
The noise got so loud that the Speaker, Om Birla, had to stop the meeting until 2 pm.
He said he was sad because the Question Hour, when members ask questions, has not happened even once since the session began.
He felt the shouting and signs lowered the dignity of the House.
Before the protests, everyone in the House stood silently to remember the people who died in the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Even with the disruption, the Lok Sabha has passed six new laws, and four of them were also approved by the Rajya Sabha.
