Three Killed, Three Seriously Injured in Karnataka Highway Crash
A car carrying six people overturned on a highway near Dharwad early Tuesday morning.
The passengers had finished catering work and eaten dinner before heading back.
Police said a lorry suddenly appeared in front of the car.
The driver braked hard to avoid it.
The car then lost control, hit the divider and turned over.
Three people died at the scene.
Three others, including the driver, were seriously hurt.
They were taken to a hospital, and police are investigating what happened.
Three people from Davangere district were killed when their car overturned on National Highway 4 near Venkatapur village in Dharwad taluk.
The crash occurred at around 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday as the occupants returned toward Dharwad after catering work and dinner at a roadside dhaba.
Police said a lorry reportedly appeared suddenly, prompting driver Basavanagowda to brake abruptly while trying to avoid it.
The car allegedly lost control, struck the road divider at high speed and overturned.
Three others, including the driver, suffered serious injuries and were taken to Dharwad District Hospital; Garag police began an investigation.
