India and Belgium are planning to work more closely on defence.

Their defence ministers met in New Delhi on Thursday.

They signed several agreements and contracts for cooperation.

The plan is to combine Belgian technology with India’s manufacturing skills and large production capacity.

Some Belgian military technology, including rockets, may be produced in India.

Companies from both countries will look for joint projects in areas such as maritime security, sensors and counter-drone systems.

Belgium says cooperation matters because security in Europe and Asia is connected.
