India has started preparing its Union Budget for 2027-28.

These instructions explain how to estimate spending for the current year and the next year.

Ministries must enter their information into an online budget system by October 6, 2026.

Meetings about the new Budget will begin on October 12, 2026.

The meetings will be led by the Secretary responsible for government spending.

Separately, the government has raised ₹55,757 crore by selling or monetising assets.
