Madhya Pradesh DPI Tightens E-Attendance Rules, Mandates Six-Hour Duty

In Madhya Pradesh, India, teachers use a special phone app called Humare Shikshak to show they are at work.

The government department that runs schools, called the DPI, has made new rules for this app.

Teachers now have to work for six hours every day.

They can only mark their attendance using the app on their phones.

Some teachers were pretending to be at school by using fake locations on the website, and the government wants to stop that.

Teachers must check in between 9:45 in the morning and 10:45 in the morning.

If they check in after 10:45, it will not count.

It has been raining a lot, and rivers are getting full.

The department says teachers and students should never cross a flooded river or stream just to get to school or mark attendance.

If they cannot reach school because of the water, they should tell their principal instead.
