Three Arrested in Uttarakhand MBBS Admission Fraud Case
Police in Uttarakhand are investigating an alleged scheme to obtain medical college seats using fake documents.
The documents were meant to show that students were dependents of freedom fighters.
Police say three people have now been arrested.
One of them, Dheeraj Kumar Srivastava, was allegedly acting as an admissions agent.
Another arrested person is the father of a student who received admission through the quota.
Police say they found about Rs 5.5 lakh in Srivastava’s vehicle.
Investigators say the group asked for Rs 45 lakh for each admission.
The investigation is continuing, and police say more action may follow.
