A famous movie actor named Dhanush went back to the school he attended as a child.

The school is called Thaai Sathya Matriculation School, and it is in Chennai, India.

Dhanush paid for a new school building, called the Dhanush Block, and he went there to open it.

He gave a speech to the students and asked them to be proud of Tamil, their mother tongue.

He said that not knowing Tamil is not something to be proud of, it is an insult.

Dhanush remembered that when he was a student, everyone was good at Tamil but found English hard, and now it is the opposite.

He said that today, eight out of ten people he meets do not know Tamil.

He also shared a story from a movie shoot in Belgium, where the crew told him that your first language matters most and English is just a bonus.

His next movie, called OM, will be released in theaters around the world on October 16, 2026.
