The project was a 17-storey robotic parking facility worth Rs 122 crore in Mumbadevi, South Mumbai.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) initiated the project but stopped it last year.
The court noted that such decisions often result in substantial losses to the public exchequer.
