Assam Assembly Sees Suspensions and Walkouts
Akhil Gogoi suspension sparks call for special holding room for MLAs in Assam · assamtribune.com

In Assam, a minister suggested creating a special room in the government building where lawmakers who are suspended can stay.

This is because a lawmaker named Akhil Gogoi was suspended for interrupting the meetings.

Another lawmaker, Sherman Ali Ahmed, was also suspended for disrupting proceedings.

The minister thinks that suspended lawmakers should not be allowed to leave and talk to reporters.

Later, some other lawmakers from the Congress and CPI(M) parties walked out of the meeting because they were not allowed to discuss problems at Tezpur University.

The Speaker asked everyone to behave properly and cooperate.

The opposition leaders were not happy with the decision and left the meeting.
