DTAB Proposes Nationwide Digital Registration and Donor Authentication

DTAB Proposes Nationwide Digital Registration and Donor Authentication
Blood Donation To Go Digital? DTAB Proposes Mandatory e-RaktKosh Registration, ABHA-Aadhaar Authentication Nationwide · freepressjournal.in

A government advisory board has proposed a digital system for blood centres across India.

Centres would have to register on a government website called e-RaktKosh.

They would also upload information about blood they collect, test and give out.

Donors could confirm who they are using a digital health ID or an OTP linked to Aadhaar.

This could help centres keep track of donations and share information.

It may also help prevent people who have been temporarily told not to donate from donating elsewhere without that information being known.

The system could help staff find out what blood is available, but it cannot guarantee that every blood type will always be available.

The proposal is not yet a legal requirement and must go through the regulatory process first.
