Marathwada has not received enough rain this monsoon.
This has caused a serious shortage of drinking water.
Authorities are sending 246 tankers to 142 villages and 91 smaller hamlets.
They have also acquired 512 wells to find more water.
Some wells are used to fill the tankers.
Other wells send water through village pipelines.
Latur has acquired the most wells, with 225.
Nanded and Hingoli have not acquired any wells so far.
Authorities deployed 246 tankers to supply drinking water to 142 villages and 91 hamlets in Marathwada.
The region received 442.4 mm of rainfall against an expected average of 679.5 mm.
Officials acquired 512 wells across the eight-district region to support water distribution.
Of the acquired wells, 67 fill tankers and 350 connect directly to village pipelines.
Latur acquired the most wells with 225, while Nanded and Hingoli acquired none.
