Kerala schools closed in 5 districts due to heavy rain
It has been raining very heavily in a part of India called Kerala.
The heavy rain has caused water to collect on roads, which is called waterlogging.
Rain can be dangerous, so leaders in charge of some areas decided to keep children home from school.
On August 7, schools, colleges and Anganwadi centres will be closed in five districts.
The five districts are Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Wayanad, Kottayam and Thrissur.
Weather scientists called the India Meteorological Department gave warnings called red and orange alerts.
In one district, only schools that are being used as relief camps for people are closed.
Children who have exams can still go to school, because exams will not be postponed.
