UPI does not have one single limit for every payment.

Most regular UPI payments can be up to ₹1 lakh.

Some special payments are allowed to be larger.

Tax payments, IPO applications, certain RBI Retail Direct transactions, and payments to hospitals or schools can reach ₹5 lakh.

Some capital-market and insurance payments can reach ₹2 lakh.

UPI Lite is meant for smaller payments and allows up to ₹1,000 at a time.

UPI 123Pay, which works on feature phones, allows up to ₹10,000 per transaction.

A bank or UPI app may still set a lower limit.
