Accused in CJP Protest Assault Flees Before Police Arrest Attempt
Swatantra Bharadwaj is accused of hurting the father of a student during a protest in New Delhi.
A video shared on social media reportedly showed him saying that he had “cracked the skull” of the man.
The Cockroach Janta Party, or CJP, wanted police to take action.
Its members held a protest at the Parliament Street police station.
Police said they would arrest Bharadwaj within 72 hours.
Before police reached Bulandshahr, he reportedly left the area.
Sources said he rode a Bullet motorcycle toward Khurja and wore a helmet to hide his identity.
Police teams were still trying to find and arrest him.
Swatantra Bharadwaj, accused of assaulting a student’s father, reportedly fled Bulandshahr before Delhi Police arrived to arrest him.
Police sources said Bharadwaj left Naithla village on a Bullet motorcycle heading toward Khurja.
He was reportedly wearing a helmet to conceal his identity.
Several plain-clothes police teams searched for him and questioned local journalists during the operation.
