Tesla UK Sales Drop 29% in December

Tesla, the electric car company led by Elon Musk, sold fewer cars in the UK in December 2025 compared to the previous year.

Their sales dropped by almost 30%.

Meanwhile, a Chinese company called BYD sold almost five times more cars in the UK in the same month.

Tesla is still the top-selling electric car brand in the UK, but BYD is catching up.

In 2025, the overall number of new cars sold in the UK increased by 3.5%, reaching 2 million.

Two Chinese car brands, MG and BYD, were among the top 10 best-selling car brands in the UK in December.

Tesla also saw a decrease in sales in the Netherlands.

The decrease in Tesla's sales is due to competition from Chinese brands, their older car models, and Elon Musk's political views in Europe.
