Karnataka Cabinet Recommends Action Against KPSC Chairman

The Karnataka government wants action taken against the head of its public service commission.

This follows searches by the Enforcement Directorate and allegations involving a fake income certificate.

A court had earlier stopped his suspension and ordered him to return to his post.

The Cabinet also wants to make prisons safer with new technology.

This includes smart cameras, devices that block phone signals and a controlled phone system for prisoners.

Twenty-eight prisoners may be released because they behaved well.

The government also discussed changes for the Greater Bengaluru Authority.

Another proposed law would set rules for people and groups using government buildings, parks, roads and other public places.

The law would also allow penalties when public property is misused or damaged.
