CPI(M) accuses Andhra government of delaying Budameru flood safeguards
The CPI(M) says the government has not done enough to stop Budameru from flooding again.
It held a protest in Vijayawada to demand stronger flood protections.

The party held a protest and dharna near the Budameru bridge in Vijayawada.
CPI(M) leader Ch Baburao said the 2024 floods killed about 50 people and displaced nearly three lakh.
The party demanded approval of a Rs 5,222 crore Detailed Project Report and immediate funding.
Proposed measures include widening Budameru, building a parallel canal, strengthening regulators and constructing four upstream reservoirs.
