MP Directs Departments to Hold Promotion Panels for 2027 Vacancies
Madhya Pradesh has told government departments to review who may be eligible for promotions.
They must do this through meetings called Departmental Promotion Committee meetings, or DPCs.
These meetings should usually happen from September to November before the year the vacancies are expected.
Departments are being asked to hold meetings in 2026 to plan for possible openings in 2027.
If an unexpected opening in 2026 cannot be filled from a waiting list, it should also be considered in a DPC during that period.
Some promotion planning for 2026 has already taken place.
Departments that completed the required meeting on time do not have to repeat it.
Madhya Pradesh’s General Administration Department directed departments to hold Departmental Promotion Committee meetings under the 2025 promotion rules.
The meetings are to consider expected vacancies for 2027 and should be held between September and November 2026.
If an unexpected vacancy arises in 2026 and cannot be filled from a waiting list, a DPC should be organised in that period.
Rule 6 requires a DPC for every selection year, normally in the previous year, to assess promotion eligibility.
Departments that already held a meeting within the prescribed period do not need to hold another one.
