Sharmila demands coalition to raise farmers' issues in Parliament

Y. S. Sharmila, who is the president of the Congress party in Andhra Pradesh, wrote a letter to the Chief Minister.

She asked the MPs from the ruling coalition parties to talk about the problems of farmers in Parliament.

She said farmers growing tomatoes, mangoes, tobacco, and shrimp are having a hard time.

She wants the government to help these farmers by discussing their problems in Parliament and taking action.

If the government doesn't listen, she said the Congress party will protest with the farmers.

She also wants the central government to buy tobacco from farmers and reduce taxes on shrimp products.
