Masked men rob Haryana advocate of Rs 3.15 crore
Some robbers wearing masks went into the home of a lawyer named Balwant Singh Walia in Kurukshetra, India.
The lawyer had gone out in the evening to walk his pet dog.
When he came back, he found his wife tied up with rope, with tape over her mouth.
The robbers pointed guns at the elderly couple and tied up the lawyer too.
They made him open their lockers and took money, gold and silver jewellery, utensils, idols and even a licensed revolver.
The robbers said they had tried to rob the same house back in March but could not open the safes.
Before leaving, they demanded more money and warned the couple not to call the police.
Neighbours heard the alarm, freed the couple and informed the police.
The police registered a case and are searching for the robbers by checking CCTV footage.
Four masked men allegedly barged into the Kurukshetra home of senior advocate Balwant Singh Walia, holding him and his wife at gunpoint and robbing valuables worth around Rs 3.15 crore.
Walia had stepped out around 9:30 pm to walk his pet dog and returned around 10 pm to find his wife tied up with rope and adhesive tape over her mouth; he was then overpowered and tied up too.
The assailants claimed they were behind a Rs 50-lakh burglary at the same house on March 20, saying they had failed to open the digital safes, and forced Walia to open two lockers at gunpoint.
Stolen items included Rs 17-20 lakh in cash, 1.5-2 kg of gold jewellery, around 4 kg of silver ornaments, utensils and idols, and a licensed revolver with cartridges; the gang also damaged four CCTV cameras and took the DVR.
A case was registered at Thanesar City police station under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Arms Act, while the Crime Investigation Agency and local police scan CCTV footage; Congress MLA Ashok Arora alleged law and order in Haryana has deteriorated.

Authorities: Investigation underway, security stepped up
Police said a case has been registered against unidentified persons under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act, the Crime Investigation Agency and local police are scanning CCTV footage from across the city to trace the suspects, security has been deployed at the advocate's residence, and a separate case from the March incident is also being investigated.
