HUDCO loan book to cross ₹2 lakh crore in FY27
HUDCO is a big, government-owned company in India that gives loans to build houses, roads, and cities.
It needs lots of money so it can lend to projects.
HUDCO said it expects people and projects to owe it more than ₹2 lakh crore by the end of this year.
Last year, that number was ₹1.62 lakh crore.
To get the money, the company plans to borrow ₹75,000 crore this year from banks in India and other countries.
It has already borrowed ₹20,000 crore in the first three months.
HUDCO will also sell special bonds that help people save on taxes.
In the first three months, it gave out more loans than ever before: ₹16,377 crore.
That is 28 per cent more than the same time last year.
The Reserve Bank of India is helping by offering a special deal that makes borrowing from other countries cheaper.
HUDCO expects its loan book to exceed ₹2 lakh crore in FY27, up from ₹1.62 lakh crore in FY26.
The company plans to borrow ₹75,000 crore from domestic and overseas markets in the current fiscal, having already raised ₹20,000 crore in Q1.
HUDCO plans to raise up to ₹1,000 crore through Capital Gain Bonds and issued about ₹120 crore worth last fiscal.
April-June loan disbursements hit a record ₹16,377 crore, a 28 per cent jump from ₹12,812 crore a year earlier.
The firm aims to raise a further $1.3 billion through External Commercial Borrowings under the RBI concessional swap window.
