Iran demands US end war; India fuel prices unchanged
People in India buy petrol and diesel to run their cars and bikes.
On Saturday, the price of these fuels stayed the same in big cities like Delhi and Jaipur.
The companies that sell fuel in India have kept prices steady since their last big change on 25 May.
World oil prices are connected to where oil ships can travel.
A very important waterway called the Strait of Hormuz is used by ships carrying oil.
Iran and the United States have been fighting a war for about five months.
Iran said it will not reopen the strait until the United States stops threatening it and meets its demands.
Iran wants the US to end the war, remove its soldiers, lift sanctions and pay for the damage, while Oman is helping the two sides talk.
Also in India, politician Arvind Kejriwal criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi over a new US law that could punish countries buying Russian fuel.
Petrol and diesel prices in major Indian cities were unchanged on 9 August, still aligned with the last major revision on 25 May.
Brent crude settled at $83.55 a barrel, up 1.3%, while West Texas Intermediate fell 0.3% to $77.06 a barrel, Bloomberg reported.
Iran's Supreme National Security Council said it will not open the Strait of Hormuz until the United States 'corrects its behavior'.
