Aadhaar OTP Helps Police Find Missing Bengaluru Teen
Bengaluru teen left for college and vanished. Months later, OTP led police to her · indianexpress.com

Tanishka left her Bengaluru home with a friend and was missing for seven months.

The girls did not take their phones or other belongings, which made them hard to find.

They later travelled to several religious places, according to police.

At Male Mahadeshwara Hills, they met two young men who reportedly stopped them from harming themselves.

The girls then went separate ways with the men.

Police said Tanishka married one of them and lived in his village.

Investigators eventually found her Aadhaar details in an application for a government health scheme.

The application used her husband’s phone number to receive a one-time password, or OTP.

Police followed that phone number and found Tanishka, while the other girl is still missing.
