Aadhaar OTP Helps Police Find Missing Bengaluru Teen
Tanishka left her Bengaluru home with a friend and was missing for seven months.

At Male Mahadeshwara Hills, they met two young men who reportedly stopped them from harming themselves.
The girls then went separate ways with the men.
Police said Tanishka married one of them and lived in his village.
Investigators eventually found her Aadhaar details in an application for a government health scheme.
The application used her husband’s phone number to receive a one-time password, or OTP.
Police followed that phone number and found Tanishka, while the other girl is still missing.
Eighteen-year-old Tanishka disappeared from her Bengaluru home on January 31 after saying she was going to college.
Police said Tanishka and a minor friend travelled to temples before reaching Male Mahadeshwara Hills.
The girls reportedly met two young men, after which they separated and went with them.
Tanishka married one of the men and settled in a village in Kanakapura taluk, according to the CID.
Police traced her through an OTP sent to her husband’s phone after she used Aadhaar details for a government health scheme.
