Thirteen people have died after consuming spurious liquor containing highly toxic methanol in Gujarat’s Bhavnagar district.
Three people remain hospitalised, while 24 other consumers were medically examined and found in normal health.
Officials said 67 people consumed the liquor, which contained 38.59% methanol and 0.94% ethanol.
Police have arrested 13 of the 21 people named in the FIR, and the investigation has been transferred to the State Monitoring Cell.
Police allege the liquor was prepared in Vartej, sealed in imitation IMFL bottles and distributed for financial gain.
