Bihar Police Begins Large-Scale Transfers Under Tenure Rules
Bihar Police plans to move many police workers to new areas.
This includes people from the rank of Inspector down to Constable.
The changes apply to workers who have stayed in one district or range for too long.
The maximum stay is five years in one district and eight years in one range.
Their total time across different police units is also limited to eight years.
A committee chosen by the police chief will decide the final transfers.
Workers with less than two years before retirement will not be included.
Police offices must send accurate lists of eligible personnel by the required deadline.
Bihar Police Headquarters has issued guidelines for large-scale transfers of personnel from Inspector to Constable.
The transfers will cover police personnel across zones, districts, ranges, units, commissions and training institutes.
Personnel may be transferred after completing five years in one district or eight years in one range.
The tenure calculation will use Police Order No. 322/2022, with August 31, 2026, as the cut-off date.
A Director General of Police-appointed committee will make final decisions after reviewing recommendations and personnel lists.
