A leader of a political group in India, called the CPI(M), has been given a case by the police.
His name is K P Udayabhanu, and the event happened in the state of Kerala.
The police had been looking for a man with a criminal past named Arjun Ayanki.
They searched houses in a town called Mallappally because they thought he might be hiding there.
Udayabhanu and more than 100 other members of his group held a protest because they did not like the searches.
