Rohini Gurjar Ranks Second After Returning to Studies
Rohini Gurjar had stopped studying for many years after finishing college.
After her husband died, she decided to study again, with encouragement from her brother and grandmother-in-law.
She prepared for a difficult government examination and missed the mains cutoff in her first attempt.
Before her next exam, her grandmother-in-law died.
Then her elder daughter died shortly before the test, and Gurjar was also injured in a road accident.
Her family encouraged her to take the exam, and she decided to do so for the future of her younger daughter.
She passed the Rajasthan Administrative Service examination and ranked second in the MBC widow category.
She says she wants girls to have more chances to study and move forward.
Rohini Gurjar secured second rank in the MBC widow category in the Rajasthan Public Service Commission’s RAS 2024 examination.
She was allotted a post in the Rajasthan Accounts Service.
After completing her BA in 2006, Gurjar returned to studying in late 2021 after nearly 15 years away from education.
