BJP chief Nitin Nabin meets Sri Lankan JVP delegation
India’s BJP party met representatives of Sri Lanka’s JVP party.
The Sri Lankan group had five members and was led by Tilvin Silva.
It came to India on September 27 through a BJP programme called ‘KNOW BJP’.
The groups talked about how their parties are organised and how they govern.
They also discussed programmes for women and young people.
Nitin Nabin explained some of the BJP’s work with skills, businesses and youth participation.
Both sides talked about cricket as a way for people in the two countries to connect.
Nabin said he hoped the parties would keep meeting regularly.

The delegation, led by JVP general secretary Tilvin Silva, visited India from September 27 under the BJP’s ‘KNOW BJP’ initiative.
The two sides discussed party organisation, governance experiences, welfare initiatives and ways to increase public participation.
Nabin highlighted India-Sri Lanka civilisational, cultural and Buddhist ties, while cricket was discussed as a people-to-people connection.
Nabin expressed hope for regular institutional engagement and invited the delegation to visit Bihar during its next India trip.
