Hyderabad Hosts Workshop on Battery Waste and Critical Mineral Recovery

Some batteries contain valuable materials like lithium, cobalt and nickel.

When batteries run out, these materials can be taken out and used again.

This is called recycling, and it helps protect the environment.

A group in Hyderabad called the Telangana Pollution Control Board is organizing a special meeting about battery recycling.

The meeting will be held on August 19 in Sanathnagar and will last for one day.

Scientists, company workers and government officials will come together to talk about how to recycle old batteries.

They will also discuss how to get valuable materials out of used batteries, especially lithium-ion batteries.

The workshop is part of the preparation for a big global meeting called the World Circular Economy Forum.

That forum teaches people how to reuse things instead of throwing them away.

The goal is to find better ways to recycle and save precious resources.
