84 NCC Cadets Embark on Brahmaputra Sailing Expedition
Eighty-four young cadets from the National Cadet Corps (NCC) have started a big adventure on the Brahmaputra River!
They are sailing on boats for ten days, traveling a long distance to honor a brave old general named Lachit Borphukan.
This trip is part of a special competition for naval cadets.
Along the way, they will learn about teamwork and being adventurous.
The journey started at Biswanath Ghat and will end in Guwahati.
The cadets practiced a lot beforehand to be ready for sailing and any challenges.
Many important people came to wave goodbye and wish them luck on their exciting expedition.
84 NCC cadets have commenced a 10-day, 248 km Brahmaputra River sailing expedition.
The expedition is organized by the NCC Directorate North Eastern Region as part of the MENU 2025 competition.
It aims to honor the Ahom General Bir Lachit Borphukan and foster adventure and nation-building.
Cadets will traverse five districts of Assam, starting from Biswanath Ghat and ending at Pandu Port, Guwahati.
Participants underwent intensive pre-expedition training in sailing, navigation, and survival techniques.
