Kalyan Man Arrested After Alleged Assault on Crime Branch Officers
A Crime Branch team was moving a seized tempo when the vehicle developed a problem.
The officers stopped near Durgamata Chowk and called for a towing van.
Police say a 44-year-old motorcyclist, Ramesh Bhairav Barje, arrived and became angry during a conversation with them.
They allege that he grabbed two officers and stopped them from doing their work.
Police also say he tried to prevent the towing van from moving the tempo and threatened to call others.
One officer reportedly suffered an internal chest injury.
Bazarpeth police took Barje into custody and registered a case.
Police say the incident is still being investigated.
