Body carried on cot for 8 km as road impassable
A man named Siba Majhi went far away to a big city to work and earn money for his family.
Sadly, he died while he was away.
His body was sent back to his home village.
But the road to his village had become very muddy because of heavy rain.
No car or truck could drive on that road.
So the people bringing his body had to leave it by the roadside for the night.
The next morning, villagers carried his body home on a cot.
They walked for about 8 kilometers to reach his house.
Siba was the only person earning money for two families, so his mother and relatives are very sad and worried about the future.
This story shows how some villages still do not have proper roads.
Labourer Siba Majhi, who had migrated to Hyderabad for work, died under mysterious circumstances and his body was sent back to his native village.
Relentless rains turned the 8-km Durespadar–Dumuninala forest road into a muddy, impassable track, halting all vehicular movement.
Because no vehicle could travel the road, the body was left on the roadside overnight.
Local residents carried the body on a cot for nearly 8 km to his home in Bhati Pasa under Thuamul Rampur block's Padepadar gram panchayat.
Majhi was the sole provider for two households and leaves behind a helpless mother and relatives facing an uncertain future.
