Naidu to Distribute Property Titles to 24,042 Families
The government plans to give property ownership papers called pattas to poor families.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is expected to hand them over on September 30 in Vijayawada.
The first group will include 24,042 families from NTR district.
Together, their land covers about 616.56 acres.
The land is estimated to be worth Rs 23,213 crore.
Some families have waited for property rights for many years.
The cases include old pattas, families living on government land, and violations under a land-transfer law.
Officials said families missed in the first round may be helped in a later round.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is scheduled to distribute pattas in Vijayawada on September 30.
The first phase will benefit 24,042 families through regularisation of 616.56 acres in NTR district.
The regularised land is estimated to have a market value of Rs 23,213 crore.
The beneficiaries include 12,710 NTR and other patta holders, 2,586 government-land residents, and 8,746 cases under the Prohibition of Transfers Act.
Officials said eligible beneficiaries left out of the first phase will be considered during a second phase.
