Minnesota Man Kills Wife, Daughter at Daycare in Triple Murder-Suicide
A very sad thing happened in Minnesota.
A man hurt his wife and his seven-year-old daughter in the home where they ran a small daycare.
He also hurt an older relative who lived in a nearby town.
Then he hurt himself, and he died.
Police believe he went to the relative's house first, before coming home.
Six other little children were at the daycare and were not hurt.
A parent saw the attack while dropping off a child and called the police.
Police do not know yet why this happened.
The community is very sad for the family and for the children who may have seen it.
A 41-year-old Minnesota man killed his wife and 7-year-old daughter at their in-home daycare, Brown Bear Childcare, in Hopkins before fatally shooting himself.
Police believe the man also fatally stabbed a 78-year-old relative at her home in Burnsville, about 20 miles from Hopkins, prior to the attack.
All six other children at the daycare were not physically harmed; a parent called police after witnessing the attack in the home's basement while dropping off a child.
Authorities said no clear motive had been determined and there was no history of police calls to the Hopkins address.
The daycare was state-licensed since 2019 with a capacity of 10 children and was found in compliance during visits in 2023, 2024, and 2025.
