Keralam plans to put machines selling sanitary napkins in public places.

The machines are part of a programme called WOMN.

The state’s Women and Child Development Department will launch it on October 6.

The programme is part of the government's 100-day action plan.

Women and girls will be able to get napkins at affordable prices while travelling.

Incinerators will also be provided to help dispose of used napkins.

The facilities are planned for tourist spots, KSRTC bus terminals and depots, and other public places.

Minister Bindu Krishna is due to inaugurate the project at Thampanoor KSRTC bus terminal at 5 pm on Tuesday.
