BCCI Awaits Government Clearance for Bangladesh Tour Decision
The BCCI is the organization that runs cricket in India.
The Indian cricket team was supposed to visit Bangladesh to play a series of matches.
That visit did not happen because there was political trouble in Bangladesh.
The matches were hoped to take place in September this year.
Instead, India will play a short set of three T20 games against Afghanistan.
The BCCI cannot decide by itself whether to go to Bangladesh.
It needs permission from the Government of India.
So the BCCI is asking the government to say yes.
After the government gives permission, the BCCI will find a new time for the matches.
The BCCI has put the onus on the Government of India to give a green signal for India's tour of Bangladesh.
India's white-ball series in Bangladesh, originally scheduled for 2025, did not take place due to political instability in the country.
The series had been expected to take place in September, but India will instead play a three-match T20I series against Afghanistan.
Sources told Times Now that the BCCI is in talks with the government because the board cannot decide on its own.
The BCCI will arrange a window for the Bangladesh series once it gets clearance from the Indian government.
