Pro-Tibet Activist Detained in China
A young woman named Zhang Yadi from China went to visit her family this summer.
She is a student who lives in France and writes for a website that talks about Tibet.
Tibet is a place in China where some people say the government is not treating the local Tibetan people fairly.
Zhang wanted to see her family, but she disappeared after she got to China.
Her friends and family think she was taken by the police because of her writing.
They are very worried about her and want to know if she is okay.
The Chinese government says they are not aware of her case, but other countries are trying to help.
Zhang's friends say she should not be in trouble because she was just writing about things she cared about.
Zhang Yadi, a 22-year-old Chinese national and pro-Tibet activist, was detained by Chinese authorities in late July.
She was accused of 'inciting division of the country' for writing for a pro-Tibet blog, Chinese Youth Stand For Tibet (CYST).
Zhang was in solitary confinement for more than three months and had no contact with anyone except guards and interrogators.
Her partner, Yarphel Norsang, a Tibetan exile with French nationality, and other friends are concerned about her well-being.
The French and German governments have expressed concerns to China about Zhang's detention.
