Kalyan Crime Branch Recovers 21 Stolen Bikes, Arrests Two
Police in Kalyan arrested two men suspected of stealing motorcycles.
They found 21 motorcycles worth about ₹11.40 lakh.
Investigators connected the motorcycles to 15 reported theft cases.
These cases came from four districts.
Six motorcycles still do not have identified owners.
The investigation started after a theft case was reported at Khadakpada Police Station.
Police said information from a confidential source and technical investigation helped them make the arrests.
The suspects had previous criminal cases, according to police.
Police arrested two alleged vehicle thieves in Kalyan and recovered 21 motorcycles valued at about ₹11.40 lakh.
The investigation linked the recovered motorcycles to 15 theft cases across Thane, Navi Mumbai, Palghar and Nanded districts.
Six recovered motorcycles have not yet been matched with their owners, police said.
The accused were identified as Sarvar Annu Sayyed, 42, and Gazi Rafiq Jafri, 28, both from Ambivli.
Police said both suspects have previous criminal records, with 30 cases against Sayyed and 37 against Jafri.
