A new cancer hospital and palliative care centre opened in Anakapalli.

Pendurthi MLA Panchakarla Ramesh Babu said he would provide about Rs.1 crore over time.

The money will help build places for patients and their helpers to stay.

It will also support improvements to the hospital campus.

District Collector Vijaya Krishnan said finding cancer early is very important.

The centre holds training for ASHA workers every Thursday.

The training covers cancer awareness, screening and care for people with serious illness.

Several organisations and district officials helped develop the facilities.
