Gold bracelet and marijuana seized in separate IGI cases
Customs officers found valuable items in two separate cases at Delhi airport.
In the first case, two Turkish passengers had a gold bracelet with diamonds.
The bracelet was worth more than Rs 1 crore.
Officers stopped them after they arrived from Istanbul on August 19.
In the second case, officers checked a Malaysian passenger’s trolley bag on September 4.
They found about 15 kilograms of suspected marijuana inside 30 packets.
The marijuana was valued at around Rs 5.25 crore.
The passengers were arrested under Indian laws.
Customs officials seized a diamond-studded gold bracelet valued at more than Rs 1.07 crore at Delhi’s IGI Airport.
The 87.5-gram bracelet contained about 10 grams of diamonds, equivalent to approximately 50 carats.
Two Turkish nationals arriving from Istanbul were intercepted on August 19 and arrested under the Customs Act.
Officials seized 15,015.5 grams of suspected marijuana, valued at about Rs 5.25 crore, from a Malaysian passenger on September 4.
The Malaysian passenger arrived from Kuala Lumpur and was arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
