Pune Metro Ridership, Revenue Surge During September Ganeshotsav
Pune Metro carried many more people in September 2026 than it did in September 2025.
Nearly 93.6 lakh passenger journeys were recorded during the month.
This was about 23% higher than the previous year.
Metro revenue also increased by about 22%.
A major reason was Ganeshotsav, when many people traveled across Pune.
From September 17 to 25, more than two-fifths of the month’s rides took place.
September 25 was the busiest day, with more than 5.8 lakh journeys.
Both Metro lines grew, but Line 1 grew faster than Line 2.
Pune Metro recorded 93,58,603 passenger journeys in September 2026, up 23.26% from September 2025.
Monthly revenue rose 22.37%, from ₹11.70 crore to ₹14.32 crore year-on-year.
Line 1 ridership grew about 33%, while Line 2 ridership increased approximately 15.2%.
The nine-day Ganeshotsav period from September 17 to 25 accounted for about 39.63 lakh journeys, or 42.3% of monthly ridership.
September 25 was the busiest day, with 5,80,280 journeys and daily revenue of ₹85.62 lakh.
