J&K Pushes Medical Colleges to Expand Seats
The Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir, Atal Dulloo, had a meeting to talk about adding more seats for students in medical, dental, Ayurvedic, and Unani colleges.
They discussed how many seats were added last year and made plans to add even more seats this year.
The goal is to make sure there are enough spots for students who want to become doctors and specialists.
They also talked about making sure all the rules are followed and that everything is done on time.
The colleges are planning to add a lot of new seats for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
J&K Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo chaired a meeting to review the augmentation of undergraduate and postgraduate seats in medical, dental, Ayurvedic, and Unani colleges.
The meeting was attended by senior officers, including the Secretary of Health & Medical Education and the Director of SKIMS.
The Chief Secretary directed the expansion of DM and MCh seats in Super Speciality Hospitals and SKIMS Medical College for the next academic session.
Medical colleges across J&K are proposing to add 284 MD/MS seats, 35 DNB seats, and 36 DM/MCh seats for the 2026–27 session.
Additional MBBS seats were sanctioned for various medical colleges, with plans to apply for more seats in the upcoming session.
