The agreement is expected to create around 7,000 jobs.

Other agreements reportedly bring the total investment commitments above ₹12,300 crore.

Ernst & Young also promised ₹1,000 crore for a new technology center.

The AIADMK criticized the trip and questioned why Vijay needed to travel abroad.

It also pointed to photographs of Vijay at a motor-racing event and questioned an agreement involving a company based in Noida.
