'We let ourselves down with the bat': Simmons after Bangladesh's heavy loss against CA XI · thehansindia.com

Bangladesh's cricket team played a practice game in Australia to get ready for a big Test match.

The practice match did not go well for them.

In their second turn to bat, they were all out for only 54 runs, which is a very small score.

The other team, called Cricket Australia XI, had already scored 355 runs, so they won easily.

One Bangladesh player, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, played very well and scored 109 runs without getting out.

Campbell Thompson from the other team took eight wickets, which is a fantastic bowling performance.

Bangladesh's coach, Phil Simmons, said they let themselves down with the bat.

The team still has three days to practice before the real Test against Australia begins on August 13.

This will be Bangladesh's first Test in Australia in 23 years.

Spinner Taijul Islam hurt his finger but his team hopes he will be ready to play.
