Volkswagen Recalls 2.86 Million Vehicles Over Steering Risk
Volkswagen found that some cars may have corrosion in a steering-system part.
Corrosion means the metal can become damaged over time.
The damage could make a bolt break.
If that happened, a driver might lose control of the steering.
About 2.86 million vehicles around the world are included in the recall.
Some Audi and SEAT vehicles are included too.
Volkswagen says no one has been injured because of this problem.
Owners can keep using their vehicles while waiting for a free repair appointment.
Volkswagen is recalling about 2.86 million vehicles worldwide because corrosion could cause a steering-system bolt to fracture.
The recall includes Volkswagen Tiguan, Touran, Golf and Caddy models made from 2013 to 2024.
Around 700,000 Audi vehicles built between 2017 and 2024 are also affected.
Volkswagen says no injuries have been reported and describes the recall as precautionary.
Owners will be contacted and affected bolts will be replaced free of charge at authorized workshops.
