He allegedly obtained Rs4,000, then demanded Rs40,000 and an iPhone while threatening to circulate the video.
The woman allegedly transferred Rs40,000, but Singh did not provide the promised iPhone.
Police traced Singh through a technical investigation and registered charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Information Technology Act.
