India sells a lot of jewellery to people in other countries.

From April to July 2026, the country's gem and jewellery exports grew by 2.44 percent to $9.17 billion.

Jewellery set with precious stones, such as studded gold pieces, sold especially well.

Silver jewellery exports jumped by more than 72 percent, and platinum jewellery also grew strongly.

But traditional cut and polished diamond exports fell by 18.23 percent, which pulled down the overall numbers.

Diamonds made in a laboratory actually sold better, rising 7.47 percent.

In July alone, exports were almost the same as last year, at $2.35 billion.

Gold became a bit cheaper in July, which helped jewellery buyers.

A big jewellery show called IIJS Bharat Premiere 2026 brought more than 61,000 visitors from 80 countries.

Industry leaders hope the show will bring more orders in the coming months.
