Five Injured in Explosion at NTPC Thermal Power Plant
An explosion happened at an NTPC power plant late on Friday.
It took place in a coal storage bunker at about 12:30 a.m.
Five workers were hurt.
Three were treated at the plant’s hospital.
Two were taken to Bhubaneswar for more advanced care.
One of those two workers was stable, while the other was critically injured.
About 50 workers were inside the bunker when the accident happened.
The plant kept producing electricity, and a technical team is investigating what caused the explosion.
